Sunday Afternoon Talks: "ReVisit Bridgeport - Photographs by Ed Brinsko" In-Person
Guest speakers Jay Misencik & Geralene Valentine with Mike Daly, former Editorial Page Editor of The Connecticut Post, to talk about Ed Brinsko's photos and newspaper career. Ed’s photography collection has images that are important to Bridgeport’s history. The collection includes images of Jasper McLevy, Malcolm X, Jane Fonda, President John F. Kennedy, Gregory Peck, Bob Hope, Bette Davis, Lena Horne and Ed Sullivan. Ed also documented many events that happened over the years in Bridgeport . . . fires, parades, and events like the Barnum Festival. Ed was a life-long Bridgeport resident. Brinsko’s career with the Post Publishing Company spanned 43 years. Like the best of early to late 20th century newspaper photographers, Brinsko carried heavy cameras and many rolls of film. He then spent hours developing his images in the darkroom
