Talk: "All About Estate Planning" In-Person

The Stratford Library will host a free education seminar, "All About Estate Planning" with speaker Steve Rubin from Drazen Rubin Law, on Monday, May 22 at 7 pm. Most comprehensive estate plans are focused around a Living Trust and Last Will and Testament. A living Trust provides benefits for individuals over the age of 18 who want to ensure that as much of their estate as possible passes to their beneficiaries while at the same time avoiding as much of the Probate process as possible, regardless of the size of your estate. In addition, advance directives are also used to ensure that people you want to be in charge of your affairs have all the tools necessary if you should become incapacitated. At this workshop, learn how your property passes after your death and how a living trust can simplify your estate administration while ensuring your privacy and protecting your beneficiaries in the future.
 
    The workshop will address the following issues and questions:

Learn easy legal strategies to protect your family and assets if something happens to you.

How to make sure what you worked hard for goes to the people you love.

The basic legal documents every adult needs to protect their assets and wishes if something happens...and how to avoid common mistakes.

Advantages and disadvantages of wills, living trusts, and more.

Why you should do everything possible to help your family avoid Connecticut Probate when you die.

How to access the care you want and need as you age, while retaining complete control (and avoid going broke in a nursing home!)

How to protect an inheritance for kids or grand-kids especially if you have vulnerable beneficiaries, you are in a blended family, or a second marriage.

 

     Drazen Rubin Law is offering this free seminar in conjunction with Equinox Home Care, a Stratford business.  

 

     "All About Estate Planning" will be held in the Stratford Library Lovell Room beginning at 7 pm on May 22.
