Summer Concert: New England Guitar Society Online

Connect on Zoom and enjoy a concert wherever you are – your backyard, the beach or an air conditioned room!

 

            The Stratford Library will host the return of the popular New England Guitar Society in an online Zoom format on Saturday, July 25 at 2 pm. The concert is free and open to the public.

            The New England Guitar Society was established to create a nurturing environment for classical guitarists to meet, share ideas, perform, compose, teach and grow as musicians. Each season the society holds member meetings, and invites guest artists to perform public concerts and hold master classes at the Milford Arts Council and online.

        For the library concert NEGS will present a classical guitar journey from Spain to South America and beyond. The eight musicians, ages 13 to 70, include Ed Dorne, Bobby Fritz, Karthikeya Lakoji, Suzan Maxey, Ingo Mugge, John Steinhoff, Rich Vencus and Ken Wolen wil perform favorites by Francisco Tarrega, John Duarte, Mauro Giuliani, Leo Brouwer, Antonio Lauro, Jorge Cardoso, Isaac Albeniz, Roland Dyens, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Agustin Barrios-Mangore, Sebastian Iradier, Astor Piazzolla and Johann Kaspar Mertz.
