Harris’ reviews, articles, and photographs have appeared in countless newspapers, magazines, and websites. Having played percussion for C.J. After teaching music in public/charter schools for more than a quarter of a century, Harris launched Drum Away the Blues in 2009. Since then, he’s also presented programs on Indigenous music, America’s musical roots, Woodstock’s 50th anniversary, and rock and roll.
Today's program, SONG OF FREEDOM AND STRUGGLE, is special for "Black History Month" and examines music's role in reflecting and shaping American society from “La Marseilles” to protest songs and Civil Rights anthems,
