Music Series: LAUGH! Online
Join us for this special 3-part series of archival audio/video, storytelling, history and music by CRAIG HARRIS, a master percussionist, educator, historian, storyteller, photographer, radio host and author of Crossing Borders: My Journey in Music and Bluegrass, Newgrass, Old-time and Americana Music, The Band: Pioneers of Americana Music, Heartbeat, Warble and the Electric Powwow: American Indian Music, and The New Folk Music. Harris’ reviews, articles, and photographs have appeared in countless newspapers, magazines, and websites. Having played percussion for C.J. Chenier, Greg Brown, Jonathan Edwards, Rod MacDonald, Melanie, Merl Saunders, Rick Danko, and Los Texmaniacs, he is a member of Two Days Jeans and the Gaea Star Band (with whom he’s co-hosted the syndicated Gaea Crystal Radio Hour since 2014). After teaching music in public/charter schools for more than a quarter of a century, Harris launched Drum Away the Blues in 2009. Since then, he’s also presented programs on Indigenous music, America’s musical roots, Woodstock’s 50th anniversary, and rock and roll.
Today's program, Laugh!, explores the rib-tickling world of musical humor. This fun-filled presentation is the perfect antidote to the blues and a great way to conclude this music series.
