Family Garden Project - Basil

Family Garden Project - Basil In-Person

Calling all green thumbs! Start (or add to) your own home garden! Our first (of three) Family Garden Project Grab ‘n’ Go Kits include seeds for: basil, a delicious, tasty herb that packs a punch in salads.

Every two weeks beginning in March we’ll open registration so that families—no matter the size!—can register for an available seed kit. Each kit will include: seeds, soil, a small planting pot (so that you can start your garden inside even while the weather is cold!) and helpful planting tips for you to consult. Snap a photo (or two) of your growing garden & share it with us on one of our social media platforms if you feel inclined. We would love to see all your hard work in bloom!

While supplies last. First come, first serve. Refer to The Family Garden Project seed kit schedule below if you’re interested in signing-up for our other seed kits. Registration will open two weeks before each date.

March 16 – Basil (registration & kit pick-ups begin on March 2)
March 30 – Buttercrunch Lettuce (registration & kit pick-up begin on March 16)
April 13 – Zinnias (registration & kit pick-up begins on March 30)

This program includes an All Ages Grab 'n' Go Kit. Registered participants will receive an email from a Children’s staff member during Library hours (Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10am-5pm or Tuesday & Wednesday 1pm-8pm) to notify you that your kit is ready to pick-up within the 2-week pick-up window. Due to limited supplies, if you miss the 2-week pick-up window, we will assume you're no longer interested and will make your spot available for another interested participant. Thank you for your understanding.
