Webinar: AN OPTIMISTIC APPROACH TO JOB SEEKING Online

An Optimistic Approach to Job Seeking

Optimistic people are more likely to present themselves effectively on their resume and during job interviews than those who exude negativity and lack enthusiasm and passion. Optimistic people are also more likely to lands jobs for which they are well suited and which are personally fulfilling and to be promoted and receive fair compensation for their advancement than others. Entrenched as we are in the pandemic and all its devastating effects on our emotional stability, mental acuity and physical limitations, it is now even a greater challenge than ever to remain optimistic. Those jobseekers who work on attitude and perspective will present themselves as hopeful and confident.

Although genetics and early childhood environment do play a role in whether optimism comes easily, optimistic thinking and behavior can be learned.

This webinar opens the window on optimistic thinking for those who have yet to experience the joy of a life lived positively and encourages those who are already actively attempting to “stamp out” negativity to continue their quest.

This webinar is divided into two segments:  lecture and question- and-answer period. The topics covered include defining optimism and pessimism, understanding cognitive theory, and reflecting optimism in one’s job search.
